The Corinthian Events

The Corinthian Event Center History

The Corinthian is located in a historic building in Downtown Quincy. This 3-story building dates back to 1876 when it was built as a bank. Granite walls, marble floors, rich mahogany walls, and grand pillars make this building unique and spectacular. Just like the name, the architecture of the building is a fusion of Ancient Greek, a system of related design elements for the decoration of structures called Corinthian. Of course, the name also represents 1 Corinthian 13 Bible verse: Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

In the early ’80s, the center was known as The Forum. It was known for its light-up dance floor, a bar in the middle, and a rear garden.

From the later ’90s until 2018, it was also known as the Griffen Center and Winters West Wing.

Mick and Carol started overhauling the building after it sat empty for three years. The remodel features new flooring, freshly painted, two new grand bathrooms, a new kitchen, and a rear exit with more parking available.
